Creating Parental Engagement with MFL and the workplace talks

Over the last couple of months our UK Director, David Binns, has seen a very unexpected yet positive change relating to the impact of his MFL careers talks. Parents have now started to openly engage with the relevance of MFL in the modern work place.

After this week completing talk number 390, David reports that some parents are asking him via direct messaging about the value of their child taking and language at options time. This is a result of the vibrant, engaging of positive talks to students.

Following a Year 9 talk last week at the wonderful Caerleon Comprehensive School in South Wales, where he fully engaged with a year group of students, Alison McLeod the Head of International Languages was so pleased by the engagement of parents, she sent David an email on the positive feedback she had received about his student talk.

 Hi David,

Just had to let you know that your talk on Monday definitely had a positive impact! Had Parents Evening last night and a number of parents were saying that you'd made an impact on their child that day.
Mainly that their child never normally discusses school at home but many shared with their parents that you'd been in and what you were talking to them about - good to hear they were listening!  They said you really gave them food for thought!  Real positivity from Caerleon parents re international languages last night! It was so lovely to hear their enthusiasm. Let's hope this positivity gets us actual bums on seats though when opting!
