Sanako MFL Career Talks continue to inspire students to opt for a language at GCSE and beyond !
Caerleon Comprehensive School is a vibrant and successful school, offering a wide range of courses to students from the age of 11 to 18. We opened our doors in 1964 as Caerleon County Secondary Modern School, and since then have worked hard to provide our students with the best possible educational experience.

In 2024 the CEO of Sanako UK, David Binns, visited Caerleon Comprehensive School to speak to the students about why, as an employer, he feels that having a second language skill in his staff is so important. It was so successful that he has been asked to return in 2025 for a new cohort.

Our school offers both GCSE and A Level French AND German - students can opt for both if they so wish and we do have dual linguists.
With 73 opted for GCSE German last year and 22 in French (4 classes of MFL in our school = 95 students), I can wholeheartedly say that your honest presentation (from the eyes of the employer) ABSOLUTELY made a difference.
Put it this way, in previous years we've had total figures of 61 - 65 opting for GCSE German. Then you came along with your presentation (really, the only new thing we did for promotion last year)...... that increase in uptake was not just a fluke!
Children need to see what the 'end result' is, why are they coming to school day in, day out. Because they want a good job that's well paid and who better to tell them how to achieve that than a CEO who employs people! Only you really know what the current job market in the UK looks like!
Using the latest MFL technology to keep MFL lessons vibrant and engaging for students
Caerleon Comprehensive School uses it's Chromebooks t and Sanako Connect MFL System to really engage with students, who love to get involved with this kind of technology.
Using it's AI enhanced features, such as Pronunciation Testing, both staff and students are discovering the benefits this kind of MFL technology can bring to language learning both in class and as homework.
In addition to all it's live and spontaneous speaking and listening activities, Sanako Connect enables teachers to perform whole year group oral assessments simultaneously, so rather than this taking weeks it can be done in an hour!
