Troubleshooting - Pronounce Live

Why am I struggling to log-in?

Please make sure that you are using the Google Chrome browser to access Pronounce Live.

Other browsers such as Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox and Safari do not currently support the web application.

How can I force Pronounce Live to open in Google Chrome automatically?

  1. Right click on the desktop and select the New – Shortcut option
  2. For the location value enter the following “C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” -url https:\
  3. Click NEXT and name the shortcut Pronounce Live.

Why am I not getting a % score?

Check that the relevant Microsoft language pack has been installed for the language you wish to use.  This can be done in Windows 7 and 8 via the Windows Update – Optional settings. If using Windows 10, go to Settings - Time & Language - Region & language.

Without such language packs the Pronounce software will not be able to display the phonemes and a yellow/black warning triangle will appear at the bottom right of the interface.

Please note that language packs are only officially supported by Microsoft for Windows Enterprise or Ultimate editions.
